Downhole and Surface Sampling

• Determine appropriate sampling method for a given application and data requirements.
• Coordinate appropriate technology to collect represetative samples for deepwater offshore fields as well as onshore shale reservoirs.
• Evaluate data collection needs during sampling such as oil-based mud contamination, surface flow rates, pressure and temperature during sampling, etc.
• Design sampling program to determine volume and type of samples required.

• Evaluate laboratory capabilities, audit procedures and equipment
• After the samples are collected, coordinate with the laboratory for sample shipment and receipt, chain of custody (especially important for international projects).
• Design fluid testing programs including sample validation, routine pressure volume temperature (PVT) tests, specialized PVT tests for EOR, slim tube and swelling studies, miscibility evaluation of various fluids, viscosity tests.
• Quality check laboratory data for consistency.
• Generate equation of state (EOS) models for various uses such as reservoir engineers, multiphase meters, flow assurance simulations, gas and oil marketing, etc.
